Welcome Mats
They say, kindness is
strength, I don´t think they have ever been a
doormat to the point of
threadbare and
thick breaths.
They tell me that ¨love is
true power¨;
have they ever fallen and not
come up broken?
Because I would sure like to know the feeling.
I don´t see how soft hearts could make the
world go round when the
world keeps spinning without them,
I can´t understand how
sensitive souls could hold up the population when they are
continually trampled beneath it.
How is there good when it
hurts to be it?
I´m getting tired. No, not
angry, not
sick-and-tired, just
tired.
My eyes are dragged down from always being
down,
my shoulders sag beneath the weight of
tears
they are always used to
catch, my legs
ache from
running after the people who
stopped needing me.
I´m so tired, I just want to
sleep, I want a rest from
caring, but
no.
There is always someone who needs me for a few
moments,
weeks, even
months, I can´t turn them
away, who would I be if I wasn´t
kind?
I would never want to make anyone feel like a
burden,
but sometimes, being on the
receiving end of
ranting sessions gets a little
heavy.
My back wouldn´t be so hunched if the
patients stayed past the
appointments,
I may be a good counselor, but it gets hard to
keep giving when the
office is always
empty.
I never understood why ¨the good die
young¨ until I learned that
open hearts bleed the most.
