Welcome to Mount Everest

Camp 1, Valley of Silence

White dancing flakes masks the terrain.

Ripples crack underneath the tents.

The glacier’s chilling breath tickles the skin.

Camp 2, Khumbu Icefall

Ice towers impersonates false summits.

The altitude robes the lugs-

missing wallets of oxygen.

Camp 3, Lhotse Wall

The earth bleaches a glimmering blue

Ragged, steep and slippery vast of ice.

Frosted gravel howls behind as one walks.

Camp 4, The Deathzone

Warm greetings from Rainbow Valley,

kingdom of the dead,

Navigate around Green Boots, he’ll show the way.

Destination, The Summit

A peak so mighty; only kissed by angels-

Waves multicolor flags implanted by ghost climbers.

A grand journey to see heaven’s gates.
