We're only human

Location

Light skin
Bright skin
The right skin
Some people say we need to look within
But we're only humans

Team lightskin
Team darkskin
Will they every see thru my chocolate skin
We need to look within
But we're only humans

But see my friend
This chocolate skin is only the crust
Of who I am
And my great ancestors had to fight to be called human
Us human need to take a stand and tell a story that's been untold
We've been beaten, oppressed , brought and sold
So if you ask me what team I'm in I'm screaming African American
And it hurts me too see these stereotypes because of your skin
Like dark skins men are rough and wild and if you lightskin you must get 100 likes on Instagram
We had a dream that's fallen
We're human
No we've been programmed
To think the lighter the skin the wealthier the man

But I'm strong enough to take a stand
My darkskin is only a assecorie to the great women I am
So when your label yourself team lightskin or team darkskin
Your giving fuel to the fire that will never end
No team will win
You alone must look within.
