"From the Westside With Love"

“From the Westside With Love…”

Chicago.

Where it is easier

to find a gun

than a parking spot.

Where the air

is thick and opaque.

Where memories are fresh

But the grass is brown.

Where spray paint

covers walls.

To show

where you are from,

what you rep,

or to remember  someone who was once with us.

Where Kanye is from.

Where Obama rested his head.

Where the Cubs were originated.

Where Mr.T pitied the fool.

Where Common and Chance the Rapper are from.

Where the very first ferris wheel was created to touch the stars.

Hometown of the future world’s best designer.

                         My Hometown

Chicago.
