From Wetsand

Void of life; empty and formless,

These swirling sands wrap around my calloused soul,

What is left of my reason pushes me further into numbness,

Passion extinct; drowned out like a fire’s coal.

The darkest night compares not to the depths of my mind,

There is no glimpse of hope in these eyes of mine,

Despair is what is keeping me tethered and confined,

It is with grief that my heart has become entwined.

These sinking sands take me away from the sun,

Thoughts succumbing into misery,

All desires become gnarled, forgotten scum,

Trapped within; there is no comfort for me.
