We’ve been told

We’ve been told a heart is fragile
We’ve been taught a heart is not as strong
We’ve been shown a heart is just soft
But boy were they wrong?

Every beat you make
Feels steady and calm
You gave me a chance to have a life
And taught me to love and share
You gave me feelings
Like a guitar melody
When I strum
It goes through hail and through the snow
It feels the sprain
It feels the pain

It feels the trouble though it doesn’t show
We’ve once been told a heart can be hectic
It cracks, it breaks, it’s just too pathetic
But no matter what it came a long way
It pumps and pumps day by day

A heart is powerful
It resists any struggle
A heart's a muscle
It’s brave it’s wonderful
Not many know it but it’s a true blessing
To have one within
A heart is a gem
My heart, you’re mine today
I know that you’ll be gone tomorrow
What do u want to say
A big bright beautiful pearl
A heart is a warrior
Fierce, savage
It refuses to stop, it pushes through the damage
Be thankful for the gift
Before away it drifts
