What about my future?

Dear Future,

I am terrified

I don’t know what to expect

I never know now

Before, I could guess

I could guess what would come next

But now, I cannot

That’s the scary part

Future, that is what scares me

I can’t get over it

I need to ask you

Am I on the right path now?

Can you please tell me?

Do I have a family?

How many kids do I have?

Do I have any?

What about my job?

Is it the dream job I want?

Do I like my boss?

How is my grandpa?

Does he feel any better?

Or is he still sick?

What about my friends?

Will I still be friends with them?

Or will they leave me?

Will I get married?

Will my wife ever leave me?

Please tell me she won’t

Do I end my life?

I don’t think I ever would

But I wouldn’t know

I want some answers

I will never know though

I will just wonder

I could get good grades

Be successful everyday

But that won’t matter

You know why it won’t

You are constantly changing

It is a known fact

Future, that is you

A mystery in itself

Full of surprises

You always have been

And even though it scares me

It is beautiful

Sometimes not knowing…

It pushes me to do more

More than I expect

I thank you for that

For pushing me to do well

I truly thank you

And what comes after

I don’t know, but I don’t care

I have faith in you

So with that, goodbye

I thank you for everything

And I wish the best

Sincerely,

Your Past
