What am I

I am free

I am strong

and I am me

I have let my burdens slip away

through my written words

They flew away on swift wings

taken by the flock of birds

I have fought the shadows

that have haunted me forever

and their hold on me

I will seek to sever

I won't be someone I am not

I won't hide myself from you

I am just me and nothing else

with all my flaws; old and new

This is who I am
