What are Friends For?

Sometimes the best of friends start out as the worse of enemies.
Eventually time goes on creating a friendship that began horribly.
Many judge this statement calling me a parasite.
Degrading me deeply claiming they know what's right.

Unthinkable, me befriending you.

It feels like we got somethin' for the record book.

But you're unbearable, with the things you do.

Every now and then I stop and take a second look.

Then I realize the true potential that can grow.

We reach our high and we hit our low.

Doing things others looking in can't fully understand.

Throwing them through a loop like a ball from our hand.

We have more on our minds than you'll even know.

We have pain that we'll never show.

We have stories that we'll never tell.

We walk around like everything is fine and well.

Because you don't know us you begin to judge us.

Never giving a chance to fully understand us.

And we're not sorry for the way we react.

When the truth is you don't know us and that's a fact.

Well you came and opened me.

And now there's so much more I see.

You keep smilin', keep shinin'.

You keep me goin' and I'm not liein'.

Knowin' you can always count on me, for sure.

That's what friends are truly for.

I'll be on your side forever more.

That's what friends are truly for.
