What Are We?

I walk into the library, but I do not read.
I make lists and lists for someone else to read.
They may read it on time, or they may read it late.
Am I a student or a teacher?

I walk into the classroom, ready to learn.
But sometimes I don't.
I carry papers and pencils and folders and books.
But sometimes I don't.
I'm ready to learn and grow in the world.
But sometimes I don't.
Am I the student or the teacher?

I dress for success when I'm ready to blow minds and I also like comfy clothes that keep me happy and in line.
I have bad days and good days, it depends on my hair, sometimes I can't take it anywhere.
Am I the student or the teacher?

We learn from our mistakes,
We take chances and risks,
We have lots of things to balance,
And sometimes it's only time that makes us tick.

I am a student and a teacher, it doesn't matter either way you look.
We may be old or young, but that's up to you.
Will you learn as you grow and teach as you learn?
Will you teach as you grow and listen as you learn?
It doesn't matter either way you look.
Just remember that being nice to someone is better than just handing them a book.
