What a breakup feels like

The A/C broke

The temperature was 105

I was out driving on a long road when my car broke down

There's no way this would happen

In the middle of nowhere

On the hottest day of the year

To where I have no water or a breeze of air

No shade or source of life

The sun beats down on me hard

I see the setting around me wave like a fire

I was pretty sure I smelt smoke because I was burning

Dripping with boiling sweat I tried to find shade

Nothing helped

It felt like living in hell

Like a fire burning and my body breaking

The air became thick and I couldn’t breathe in

My lungs were collapsing and my body was failing because of lack of water

Miles until I'd come in contact with another person

I was so far gone no one would hear me scream

In pain in my check as my heart took flame

I crumble to the ground in a pool of boiling sweat

Laid on the side of the road

Looked at the sun as it blinded me

And admitted it

This was the pain of a breakup
