What Came First?

What came first

The drugs, or the pain?

Why do I attract

The grotesque and profane?

This kind of thinking

Drives me insane

So I do more drugs

And I’m confused again.

What came first

The vanity, or fame?

Sometimes life feels

Like some kind of sick game!

She comes on stage

And we chant her name

But when she makes a mistake

We shower her with shame.

What came first

The rules, or the game?

As far as I’m concerned

They’re just one in the same.

Everything we do

Is for personal gain.

Nobody wants to know

The person they hurt’s name.

What came first

The strong, or the lame?

The people in charge

Just want us to be tame.

Well I don’t care

About drugs, or fame

And I REFUSE

To play your game!
