What Change?

time has seemed to come to a standstill

1964 is the new 2014 who's next to kill

It's been 50 years but these cops are still murderin'

Still equipped without a whip but a clip, new dogs same old barkin'

Fury still burns in Missouri, as they marched on like Martin

Is it wrong for us to feel violated in a world where being

Black has made us slaves when we started as kings

It started Emmett Till, Trayvon, kiwane, Aiyana, Kimani, Tamir, and Michael Brown

Hands up to stand up for the ones they gunned down

Black male to a cop oh no this thug must be taken down

But if he kills that kid its shrugged of as legal

Bang!! bang!! Two shots to the skull

These shots from the cops is still what the children hear last

We've been weeping in the streets long before the tear gas

All the while one of our own sits in the office, he's a puppet behind the glass

in this White House, have blacks really made any progress?
