What Could be Worse?

I used to lay awake at night

To think about that day’s fright

Spinach, Broccoli, Tomatoes, and Mushrooms

What could be a worse doom?

Kids are dead and children starving

What could be more alarming?

The ocean is plastic

Could things be more drastic?

Another school shooting

But, hey, for what team are we rooting?

Me too was only a common phrase

But now these brave words receive much praise

Black lives are lost even though they matter

Hey, pro-lifers, now where’s your chatter?

America accepts all

Unless of course your differences cause you to fall

Animals abused?

Well, that’s old news

Electronic cigarettes, “there’s no need to fret”

Says the child with cancer, but doesn’t know it yet

Kids have depression

But that’s only allowed for adults in recession

As a child I could plug my nose

But now, anything goes
