What Do You Do

What do you do

When your heart says yes

But your mind says no

When your logic says leave

But your love won’t let you go

When you love them more than you could ever explain

But day after day they bring your heart pain

When they’re all wrong for you

But you feel you need them to be right

When they could have done so wrong that day

But you still make sure to say I love you that night

When you both keep saying you’re through

But then come back and say “I can’t be without you”

When you try and try and continue to fail

But your heart won’t let you quit

When they really are your bad habit your drug

But you can’t seem to shake the fit

When they have made you feel horrible so many times

But yet and still they’re always on your mind

When being with them is unhealthy

But being without them seems fatal

When you’re basically in a relationship

But they just don’t want the label

When they have the #1 spot in your heart

But it seems maybe you two should be apart

When you thought that things were changing

That you were really making progress

But then they told you how things really were

And you felt your heart couldn't mean less

When they said they were just trying to protect you

But instead they wrecked you

When they were the final straw

Sending you into a depression

When now half of the time you can’t even focus

Because you’re too busy having a self pity session

When you cry your eyes out for hours at a time

But most of that time you can’t even point out why

When you feel you have to hide it

So you wear a fake smile everyday

But then someone notices that something’s off

And they ask you if you’re okay

When that small trigger starts the tears to falling

And suddenly you’re balling

When you try to explain what’s wrong

But no one seems to get it

When you almost feel that you’d rather be dead

Because emotionally you’ve reached your limit

What do you do When you feel like you’re worthless

You have to dry your tears, lift you head, And remember that someday you’ll find your purpose
