What Do You Expect?
I'm looking in the mirror,
But I see no reflection.
Because my looks and personality,
Are cloaked by their perfections.
They made me something different,
Something that I'm not.
Afraid to be a leader,
'Cause following is what I was taught.
Hush, stay low, keep quiet,
Never stand out in a crowd.
Sadly I am a rebel,
Raised to obnoxious and loud.
You can't make me into a puppet,
If I cut all the strings.
They can't give me a uniform,
If they can't catch me.
Shout! Speak up! Be loud!
Always be unique.
Never listen to others,
Unwanted critique.
No one can change you,
You are who you are.
As different and unique,
As a single star.
Now I look into this mirror,
And see my reflection.
My quirks, flaws, and perks,
And every imperfection.
I am who I am,
My imperfections make me perfect,
Sure I'm physcotic, clingy and over-protective,
But what do you expect?
Something wrong with this poem?
