What do you know?

Dear the Rude Ones,

I see the way you look,

The way your eyes scan those you pass.

Judging me, judging them

Even though you do not know.

Sometimes you voice your opinions,

Telling people how they are,

If they are fat, stupid, or a different race,

Even though you do not know.

You pass by with sneers and snarks,

Going about your day,

And maybe you feel better about yourself,

Because after all, what do you know?

But we know,

We know the pains of our lives.

We know you may feel it too.

We know how life works.

And even though you do not know,

We do, and that’s all it will ever be.

Sincerely,

The Girl you Passed Today
