What do you see?
What do you see?
No, wait. Don't answer that.
I know exactly what you see
You see exactly what I want you to
You see funky hair,
You see a punky style,
You hear a laugh
And there's always a smile
What you don't see
What you don't hear
Is the depression
Is the financial trouble
You don't know that
I don't tell you
What do you see?
I can tell you what I see
I see a girl,
Nothing out of the ordinary
A girl that has problems,
Nothing out of the ordinary
I see a fighter
Nothing out of the ordinary
I see a survivor
Nothing out of the ordinary
I am nothing out of the ordinary
Just a girl trying to put herself through school
Just a girl who made it out of her past alive
Just a girl with a case of depression
Nothing out of the ordinary.
But I hope and I hope
That one day someone looks at me
And says "I bet she could be EXTRAORDINARY"
She just needs that chance.
