What Does Poetry Feel Like?

Finding beauty in everything we see

is to be grateful for the lives we live and the joy we bring to others.

To touch lives is to to encourage those who need

lifting up.

To put pen to paper is to harmonize with your heart and mind

to dig deep into the depths of your soul and  to ponder what it all means

To live, to love, to care that is poetry.

Now what it means to me is to open up my deepest innermost feelings and put them

on paper because I'm not one of those girls who likes to sit down and talk about her

feelings all day so I write.

For it is my soul, mind and heart layed out on a silver platter

All of my pain, hurt, love, joy, sadness,  stress

and all of life's test are written somewhere.

In such a way that it tells exactly what I am feeling and thinking in a very cryptic way

It becomes living and breathing and a strategic art within itself

Something so simple yet so complicated

Sweet yet abrasive

It is me indirectly

It is the most beautiful and thought provoking feeling of expression and at the same time

it is a set aside time of repose for me to relax and become one with my words

When I began to think of a poem I must type it or write it down immediately

because it happens so very quickly that if I don't I will miss it

It is exhilarating to feel that my words apart of me and that I am my words

To own them and place them in the way that I chose is very fulfilling

That, is what poetry means to me
