What is a dream worth to you?
If you look at me and only me
you won’t see
You won’t see the souls suffering
or the children crying
You won’t see the rich stealing
Or the poor weeping
I will show you the light
But you must promise me one thing
Don’t look away
But if you look
You’ll break along with them
You’ll see the cold reality of the world
You’ll see the black hole trying to swallow you whole
You’ll see the tears shed by so many who lost hope
You’ll see the dead walking among the living
Pleading for a second chance to really live
Those hopes and dreams you held so dear
Will be gone
Stolen without a second thought
You’ll have to fight
You’ll have to take and give what has been taken
You’ll have to hurt and be hurt
You’ll understand their pain, dread, hopelessness
But at the very end of the tunnel
When you have crawled through the despair
You’ll see a blinding light
A light so blessed and forgiving
A light that makes you rethink everything
A light congratulating you
Would you turn away and come with me?
To a world with no worries where all your desires are met
Or will you be the fool that turns their back
And walks into the darkness
Where despair lurks
And the creatures hide
The sun never comes up
And you’re all alone
What is a dream worth to you?
