what else is new?
it’s usually subtext
the currents of thought and light
running behind your eyes
the subtle stunted awkward halting of your hands
the million options and scenarios you consider before speaking
the nearly undetectable hitch in your breath, in the slow motion of your chest
but
she sees it.
she sees all of it.
and she wants to tell you
, only
she can’t find the words
