What Empowers Me

What empowers me,

Is to look, at my frail wrists,

And see that I am finally free,

Of the shackles, I'll never miss

What empowers me,

Is to look back, every now, and then,

Just to see,

How far my past is from me, again

What empowers me,

Is to whisper "I am fire,"

Because I'll show my enemies,

That I will always burn brighter

What empowers me,

Is to mend, grow, and conquer,

Breathing in, positivity,

Because I will be negative, no longer

What empowers me,

Is the knowledge that I'm young,

Knowing that there's so much to see,

And that my life, has only just, begun
