WHAT IS GOD TO ME?

What is God to me?

He is many things I know

That I cannot take for granted

On any given waking moment,

Or any time of day.

He is the healer of my pains

That somehow

Don't want to go away.

He is my calm waters,

For this troubled soul

When all else

Seems to be a failing me.

What id God to me?

He is lifter of my spirit

When I feel

That I am in a weakened state.

He is my go-to Counsellor

In those times of reflection

When looking for some help.

He is my prompter

In helping me to  not forget he's there;

In those times of quietened periods.

He is my Saviour

In helping me to be delivered

From troublesome thoughts and sins.

What is God to me?

He is my God Jehovah

The one that I can always turn to

At any time of day.

From first of light

To when night fades beyond,

Till setting sun

At the end of a busy day

As darkness settles in.

In quietness of nocturnal sounds

He will always be there for me,

In peaceful surrounds

He is the one who really cares

The giver of eternal love;

That is what God is to me.
