What Goes on in my Mind?

Within my mind,

you can see how quickly

I fall for someone who wouldn't think

twice about me.

Within my mind,

you'd see the made-up scenarios;

the happiness I feel when

I see his smile, or

the love I feel deep in my heart.

Within my mind,

you'll see how easily

I overthink; how I

mess things up

before they can even begin.

Within my mind,

you can feel the wave

of emotions: the sadness, the anger;

left wondering why I can

never be good enough.

Within my mind,

you see me jump to conclusions;

"They no longer care,"

"He doesn't want me,"

The doubt setting in.

Within my mind,

I push those thoughts

towards the back, so that

on the outside,

I hide them with a smile.
