What Happened?

What happened to the many days of laughter,

Sitting side by side at lunch where we mattered

To each other?

We use to have great conversations,

Putting ourselves in trouble, get in tough situations.

Man, those were really great times,

Having really great fun,

With my really great lime

To my coconut.

But now I can really taste your sour,

Since we don't see each other after every hour

Like in high school, middle school, or even elementary.

Try to keep in touch with you, but you don't have the time for me.

Meeting new people makes our friendship really hard to see.

We drift away and blend with our surroundings like an autumn leaf.

Yeah,

This happens time and time again

When I finally meet someone that I can truly call my friend,

When I can hang with someone where my personality doesn't bend,

Where I feel so much bliss that they seem God-sent.

However,

The horizon of our friendship is at school

Where going to another is the end, seems like a rule.

Must we conform to this cycle, we all hate it,

But neither of us is willing to put such efforts to commitment.

Oh well,

Now you're just an added friend on Facebook, A follower on twitter.

All those memories we made are now like litter

In our minds,

Scattered 'round and lost with the times.

Once a rare being now a dozen a dime.

We all know that true friendship is hard to find

Yet we let them fade, both of us combined.

At some point in our lives we will bump into each other

In all smiles and excitement like we have the same mother.

After that quick greeting, we'd disperse and feel saddened,

Reminiscing on past memories wondering what happened.
