What Happened

What happened?

To being born and raised in a village

Where only love and piece resided

To being taught how to respect yourself and others

Knowing if you didn’t, there would be no denying, that there would be a spanking,

A couple of spankings, waiting for you.

What happened?

To dressing modestly not showing off all of your goods

Afraid of being labeled a slut, big slut if you would

What happened?

To running home when the street lights came on

Playing board game and flying kites

What happened?

To men being men and women being women

Courting and if they liked,

really liked each other, they had a holy matrimony.

What happened?

I’ll tell you, let me put it all out on the line.

Some parents became friends instead of parents,

Frightened to put their damn kids in line.
