What happened to Love?

What happened to love?

We once saw each other,

but now we are blind.

Once we thought of each other,

especially in the little things.

Once we moved heaven and earth for each other.

Now we act out of habit instead of desire,

and we pass up opportunities without so much as a thought.

Dishes go unwashed,

Beds go unmade,

Strangers pass by in the hallways.

Apathy rules this house by day and my night.

A peck on the cheek and an echo of sentiment

rings hollow in our ears.

Neglect is what happened to love...
