What have I become?

What have I become by Sydney Dobies

I was unhappy

I was upset

I was insecure

I was filled with regret

I laughed to hide sadness

I smiled to hide fears

I talked to hide pain

I slept to stop tears

I was different

I'm not the same

I have a new outlook

I know I'm not to blame

I'm not pretending

There's no need to be a fraud

I'm genuinely happy

I don't need to put on a facade

I am changed

I am new

I am growing up

I have a new point of view

I look in the mirror

I see hope and I see good

I see a person

A person who was once misunderstood

I am many things

I have different capabilities

I am unique

I am a number of endless possibilites
