What hides amongst color.
It's scary what hides amongst color.
what colors tend to hide.
a smile hides a falter,
a wristband over red stripes.
it's scary what hides amongst color.
what emotions hide in your eyes.
we layer another lie, over another.
and smile as we say, "i'm fine."
it's scary what hides amongst color.
because it's not in darkness we hide.
it's often amongst the laughter,
that we most want to cry.
