What Hope Is..

Hope is,

as bright as a billboard in times square.

It stands out catching attention,

like the Northern star at night.

Hope is as bold as neon lights,

bright and welcoming there to help lead the way.

Hope is not the homeless sitting there begging for money

going through the trash, hoping to find food.

It's not the people rushing to work every day

who don't even realize their surroundings or have time for their kids.

It's not about all the honking horns and impatient people.

Hope is the sunset,

the beautiful tall buildings standing high to be seen.

The tourists who stand and take pictures noticing all the beauty around not many see.

It's about life its self and the good of it not the bad, making it through every day as the days pass.

Hope is in the beauty of life.

It's about what you make of it.

Seeing what's around you and enjoying every bit.

Living life bold and bright with no regrets but to make the best.

Very nice poem! You wrote about hope here so beautifully... sometimes music inspires me to write poetry. What if you wrote a poem called What Love Is? Here's some inspiration...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3a54aEG2Vgg

Ironically, the name of the singer is Hope! And your poem reminded me of this song!
