What I Am.
They're moments in the day,
minutes in the night,
where my mind wanders
aimlessly in the sky of my thoughts
Darkness looms in every corner,
light is rarely seen,
for my mind hold heavy thoughts of
lost memories.
My mother loved my father,
my father loved himself,
and we all loved them both.
They fought with words.
They fought with silence.
They fought with tears.
I listened to my mother's side,
her story being broken,
my father's image being shattered.
I didn't know who to love anymore.
My little sister didn't know
how much they were both fighting
for I wrapped myself around her
building a shield to our parent's heartbroken abuse.
Those memories created,
the memories lost through their anger,
the memories that were,
created who I am today.
I am my father's lost daughter.
I am my mother's living diary.
I am the protecting shield for my sister
and for my myself...
I am silently strong.
