What I Believe

This is what I believe:/

Evolution is the only option./

I could never believe that/

Jesus came to die for me, and he rose again./

What ridiculous notions!/

“Nothing can save me but me,/

Nobody cares about me except me.”/

In these facts I place my trust./

God loves, cares, protects?/

No one could really believe that./

Earth is my mother and time, my father./

There is not a doubt in my mind/

About that./

Jesus Christ is/

Not for me./

Evolution is./

This is what I believe.//

That is, what I might believe,/

If Jesus hadn’t turned me upside-down.//

This is what I believe:/

Evolution is/

Not for me./

Jesus Christ is./

About that/

There is not a doubt in my mind./

Earth is my mother and time, my father?/

No one could really believe that./

God loves, cares, protects,/

In these facts I place my trust./

“Nobody cares about me except me,/

Nothing can save me but me.”/

What ridiculous notions!/

Jesus came to die for me, and he rose again!/

I could never believe that/

Evolution is the only option./

This is what I believe./

God'sDreamer

I added slashes at the end of lines to help distinguish them!

God'sDreamer

This kind of poetry is better read aloud anyways, but it's really unintelligible when they won't keep the line spacing like I had it! You may notice that the second half of the poem is simply the first half of the poem with the lines reversed. (If you can see where the lines begin and end)
