What I Can't Live Without
I sit here and ponder,
"What can't I live without?"
"What is worth my time,
That I'll never stop talking about?"
When the answer was in front of me,
Cuddled up by my side.
Furry and small,
And very bug-eyed.
My dog is my best friend,
Though it should be diamonds.
But diamonds can't comfort me
In my darkest lowlands.
She acts like me,
Tense and anxious.
But when we're free,
We're so obnoxious.
I've never had a remedy
To subside my bitter anxiety.
But this dog I call Pandora
Makes it disappear so silently.
She listens carefully,
Never interrupting me.
She teaches me to talk less,
And I learned how to see.
My eyes can work,
But my outlook was dull.
She showed me color,
All while there was a lull.
I can't imagine a day,
Without her in my life.
If it were so I'd disintegrate
Almost like Lot's wife.
