What I Can't Live Without

Though clothes are tattered and belongings thrown about.

This vacant land ,is from where I shout.

I think of the thing I will miss the most ;while I plan my escape.

Is the sound of laughter or a fork scraping a plate.

The smell of family and the warmth from the air.

Is what I will need most when there is nothing there.

What I can't live without are those moments of joy.

And with that thought in my head , as I sit on this shore.

I think only of family because without them , I am without more.
