What I Do Because I Love You

Because I love you

I do that assignment that we both know I wouldn't do

I laugh at the small jokes that we have together in science when we should be paying attention

Because I love you

Yo aprendi una otra idioma para dicerte "Te amo"

I talk to you on the phone; smiling to myself at every text you send me late at night when anxiety keeps you up

Because I love you

I'd rather you go to a different city rather than stay if you feel where your heart belongs

Because I love you

The one thing I'm terrified of is losing your friendship even if I tell you I'm not afraid of anything

Because I love you

I'm writing this poem that I'm too scared to send you myself

And it's because I love you more than I've ever loved anyone else that I hope the absolute best for you
