What I Dream to Hear
Find a greater inspiration than this:
That which Plato says is divine, a kiss.
A kiss, which may contain heavenly love,
Is the thing I do most often miss.
Heavenly love is truly the desire,
But tis the kiss that kindles the fire,
And all know fire has awful power.
Without it? There are no thoughts of prior.
A thousand deaths I would die for your kiss.
A thousand more if you swear not to miss.
There is no other gift of which I dream;
Not even God’s gift can steal my dear wish.
No stronger inspiration is there here.
Pairs proved it with his war, so I hear.
So tell me your love and give me your kiss.
So whisper in ear what I dream to hear.
