What I Express

Thoughts become words,

Words that are expressed,

 Written,

Acknowledged without thought.

As I began to find myself,

I tapped into undiscovered emotions,

Finding memories about myself that I suppressed,

Poetry taught me that it’s the perspective you use,

To explore and find your inner imagination,

Poetry is to dig deeper,

To analyze something much more

Powerful than what’s on the surface.

Poetry help me to open up to others,

Situations that I wasn’t vocal about,

Finding ways to release what I was holding in,

Poetry taught me to be true to myself,

To believe,

To reach others,

It taught me to be in charge,

How you feel inside,

You can express on paper,
