What I have learned

What I’ve Learned

Four years of walking down wide halls

staring at these white walls

daily reminding me of all the times I have had to rise and fall

to get where I’m at

and all I know is that

if I could go back

I wouldn’t change a thing from my past

yeah, I’m human and I make mistakes

but the world ain’t perfect God made me this way

I may not have a possy and that’s okay

Because I’d trade social visibility for my Eternity any day

We know that time is short, future’s uncertain

But when I take my last breath, and wake on the other side

When I get to the Throne room and the Father’s face meets mine

Will he say to me “well done faithful servant” and say it with pride?

I may be a white girl and a young teen

But like MLK Junior I Have a Dream

I’m so sick of hearing about positivity being neglected

Sometimes I think we forget that all our debts were paid before Christ was resurrected

and

Our planet’s been corrupted by the Enemy

He’s the king of destruction, and in time he’s learned how to push our buttons

So we believe

God won’t intervene

and Satan knows how to be disruptive

He’s learned how to convince us that

 violence is subsequent

and not a consequence for our transgressions

We need to stop using our sins as the medicine

and count the Blessings that we find in Him

The One who

gave His only son for you

and

the only thing left to do

is give all the praise back to the one who rescued you
