What I Need Is With Me
I do not need a golden crown adorned with jewels
I have no desire for a marble palace of white
I do not need a mansion atop a rolling hill
I do not require a life of lavish luxury
I do not need 2.5 children and a white picket fence
I give no attention to a life that doesn't fit me.
I have no need for the pale cobalt sky and clouds of white
I would not mind if it faded untill memory fails of it's splendor
I will not complain of what I earn and what life gives me
What I truly need above any other thing
What keeps me moving when nothing seems to be
Are the songs and stories that I make and keep
Whether through voice or song or words I write
The one thing I truly need will forever be with me
