What I Never Knew

A smile so bright,

The whole room lights up.

Sparkling eyes so high,

Nothing can dull it down.

A heart so big,

That can love a fly.

Hair in a messy bun,

Not a care in the world.

He holds her hands,

Pulls her in closer,

Whispers in her ear,

Her smiles gets bigger.

Now, I watch from a distance.

How that can be me?

But I know I felt it too late.

I am putting feelings behind me

Like she did

To avoid this hurt.

The only difference,

She’s not hurting anymore

From what I never knew
