What I See in Me
Cocoa eyes
Cocoa nose
Cocoa lips
Painted onto a cocoa face
When I look in the mirror I see:
Tall
Dark
Lovely
Me
Graceless
Ageless
Youthful
I have yet to unlock Pandora's box of life
Look on me and be
Inspired
Hopeful
Renewed
Cocoa eyes
Cocoa nose
Cocoa lips
Painted onto a cocoa face
When I look in the mirror I see:
Eyes that bore through the soul
Divulging the secrets of the unknown
Mysterious
I am the 8th World Wonder
When I look in the mirror I see:
Lips
Whose movement regardless
Of expression
Of emotion
Portray a dancer
The words slip through like spilled milk
When I look in the mirror I see:
Skin
Chestnut
Chocolate
Coffee bean
Skin
I am as dark as night
Lovely as life
When I look in the mirror I see:
Hair
Strange
Stubborn as a woman
Struck with age
Kinky and curly
As short as can be
It is beautiful
Naturally
Cocoa eyes
Cocoa nose
Cocoa lips
Painted onto a cocoa face
When I look in the mirror I see:
Tall
Dark
Beautiful
Me
I am Natural
Onyx skinned
Me
Lovely
