What I See...Is ME!
This moment is me, one in a billion.
I chose this path, the warrior way in a flower dress.
I walked and ran from my demons,
I am scared of being judged before my colors show.
I am ME inside out!
My... grandmother didn't recongize me from the parade,
I grew into something that is ME...doesn't she SEE,
Outside of the reservation, the poverty and pain,
A whole new world of so many opportunities that suits ME.
So many faces, thourgh them all I glean of parts of ME.
My... grandfather didn't get to see who I AM today after so many hurdles,
I drew a masterpiece after masterpiece in the pace of turtles.
I AM LOUD AND CHEERFUL! LET THE NEIGHBORS HEAR MY POW-WOW!
I AM QUIET AND SHY, DON'T LET THAT FOOL YOU WHEN WE PLAY A CHESS GAME.
All I see is me during each failure, fame, fortune of having a friend.
Each time I walk out a door, I make difference that defines of who I AM.
If it means of making my grandmother and grandfather proud of their "Grand"-daughter.
That I AM Native American out of a million unique people.
What I see... is a girl who thinks she knows everything,
A "beautiful" girl who has issues of child trama.
A "wise" girl who knows that life can be a drama.
A "friendly" girl who has a best friend.
I was jealous that she had the support that I want.
I got revenge by ignoring her and I watch her friendship with her best friend fall apart.
She cried a river which I couldn't ignore each time I tried to sleep,
I felt guitly for the wrong deeds I did to her and I went to her for forgiveness.
That the beatiful girl saw my true colors, I felt the warmth of being forgiven,
And having my best friend back.
I AM that Beautiful, Wise, Friendly girl that had the one moment to be ME in any other way.
