What I Stumbled Upon

Today I stumbled upon something and was able to marvel in its majesty,

When I shower I sometimes lose myself in a daze - escaping the present,

My thoughts however are not at bay,

And whilst in this stupor I acknowledged the water,

And how, much like my thoughts, the water trickled throughout my body, circulated and was whisked away into oblivion,

but was left to be replaced by the ever-present river-like stream with which I have subjected myself to

However sometimes I am not aware of what I am subjected to,

and the sheer cold with which I have not embraced comes spurting out from the shower head,

I am simply left to act out in bewilderment and disarray

For sometimes we see the thoughts coming, but we are flooded by the waters that we lose sight of the source from which they came - forever unable to trace the origins from which our thoughts stemmed

there is no reuptake or reabsorption of the water despite that it is renewed

And with that I am faced with the task of encountering these thoughts and bearing them, much like mustering through the storm-like cascading yet iridescently serene shower stream that both perplexes and intrigues me

While I question it, I escape it - the sensation is ephemeral and is captivatingly stark in contrast each time

And that is what I stumbled upon today
