What I Tell Myself

When I’m afraid I tell myself

This little rhyme ‘bout being strong.

I tell myself to get out there

And hold my head up high and long.

I tell myself “Just get out there,

It doesn't matter what they say

'Cause it's alright― you'll see it’s true!

Just hold on for another day!”

I tell myself this little rhyme

I tell myself that in good time

That I will do something great

Someday I’ll see the strong inside.

I tell myself: “don’t run away

Don't keep your distance, stay close, stay safe.

Don't hide your tears, don’t give up now.

You get out there, on the path you’ll pave!”
