What I Want
What I want is recognization,
from my folks and family.
Believing in my moral's belief,
its not many that can see.
Walking to my Pops,
I talked about the day
and he asked the same.
"I failed." I said, eyes leveled ready for the bash,
but he leaned in and whispered,
"Life's about ups and downs; give tomorrow your best!"
Feeling shamed in my heart,
I left to be the man and worked like the nomads,
moving through life's journeys,
hoping to come home with money.
Knock, knock,
I opened the door,
greeted by my folks, eyes a teary,
"Son, you've done well."
Pops said, holding my earned checks.
Knock, knock, beat in my heart.
What I want is recognization.
