What I want
What I want
is my family.
Some may call me a baby.
A genie may give me a quirked eyebrow
And repeat-
You can wish for one single thing.
But I would reply-
That is who I am, and that is what I want.
My mom, who works through day and night and nags quite a bit.
My dad, who is lovable but should really watch his cholesterol level.
My sister, who can be my best friend to my worst nemesis.
And myself, who wonders out loud-
I am the luckiest person alive.
Who else can know me inside out?
Perhaps some friends.
Who else can stand seeing my face everyday?
Prince Charming?
I think and hope not.
Who else in the world can slap me away from the wrong path
And always scream the words I need to hear
And still love me for the ridiculous person I am?
I'm no poetry expert.
But I know
that all I need and all I want
Is my lovely, quirky family.
