What I want to do.
I spent a good majority of my life convincing myself that what I want to do in life is help people.
I think that’s true in a lot of ways, but what I really want to do is make people feel.
I’d love to me a doctor, and watch people heal.
Or maybe a poet, who makes people cry.
cause they’re happy
or they’re sad
or they’re not sure if they are happy or sad.
I want to be a comedian so I can make people laugh,
I want to be a lover so I can watch someone love.
I want to make a difference.
I want to know I matter.
I want to make people feel.
I write because I want to make people feel.
I want someone to know what it feels like to be me.
So they can know they aren’t alone.
At some point, all we are is skin and bones.
And what we know can be reduced to a few scribbles of ink on paper.
I love to write, I love to feel.
And maybe in doing so, I help someone heal.
Whether they’re happy
or they’re sad
or they’re not sure if they are happy or sad.
I write to figure it out.
I live to figure it out.
