what i would say if i

Here and now I lie in grim nostalgia

reminiscent of time spent with old friends

call them Tragic, now, for their tragic ends

If only I could be with them tonight

To have them back, revel in love now lost

their lights fading to black for back borne cross

But to say one thing, my post-humus advice

Don't let them take the light behind your eyes

burn bright in the darkness of my wake

My end is near, brought from my own fire

although I lost this fight, let not passion fade

my end a lullaby in sleepless nights

To hold your hands no mor, I resign--

my lifelight waning in my defeat

may yours march on with mem'ry of my own

live our lives as examples to repeat
