What If?

If I could spell fear then I wouldn't,

Given the chance, I'd scream it in its face,

You would begin to stutter but you shouldn't,

Fear was designed to put you in your place,

I had this friend who made me feel so nervous,

Tired of not taking chances I had to be bolder,

Better to fail then not to try,

Brushed the dirt off my shoulder then I told her,

Soon as I did I really felt lame,

I though of saying "That was just a prank!",

Fortunately she was very understanding,

Unfortunately she didn't feel the same,

I look back it at now and ever since,

When I get scared I tell myself this,

Failing is better than saying "What if...?"

You can only make it in life taking risks,
