What If

There she is

grappling with air

diving to cover things

she has yet to share

Do you see her there?

changing the locks

when she hasn't been robbed

when no one's even knocked

Just look at her now,

knuckles clenched white

gripping the people

that don't leave her sight

"But what if?" she cries

the tears start to roll

these 'what if' attacks

are taking their toll

Her fears are what scare them

Ironic you say?

Her unfounded anxiety

will drive them away

Can you see her just there?

she's worried he'll leave

when he sitting right by her

tracing seams on her sleeve
